Hamburg 2009

Have you seen that new Facebook feature that shows you what your status was 2 years ago today? I hate it. I hate it because I don’t want to be reminded of fun times when I’m not emotionally ready for them. The other day Facebook kindly reminded me that 2 years ago I was going to Hamburg and Berlin to see The Get Up Kids. That was just before I moved to the UK and, let me tell you, life was a lot better, exciting and promising then. The good thing about this is that it reminded me that I never shared any photos for this trip, and I think it’s about time I did, because it was a short but sweet trip and lots of fun was had.

Here I am with our two friends, who had incredible music taste. We arranged to go to see Algernon Cadwallader together and then I lost their e-mail. IF YOU SEE THEM DIRECT THEM TO THIS BLOG POST, THEY WERE RAD!

It definitely seems like a great trip. I never visited Germany, I should change that asap.

I DID NOT. But I did think about hamburgers and chuckle when I was there.

The facebook thing is something that shows up on the right column and says “this day in 2009″ and you see your status update. I HATE IT!!

Hamburg is pretty awesome. I especially enjoyed the old port, the Portuguese quarter and the bunker of doom. And I was amused by how St. Pauli merchandise is everywhere, like some sort of Che Guevara football t-shirt.

It is, isn’t it? But at the same time, we were staying right next to the stadium and the St Pauli fans around there and in the punx bars were so nice and genuine!
